A Greenwood man is in police custody and facing multiple charges after a police pursuit that began near Hantsport.
An RCMP release states that police received information at 11 a.m. on Mar. 7 that a man wanted in relation to an outstanding warrant was a passenger in a black Honda Civic driven by Morgan Allen Ross, 24, on Highway 101 in Lower Sackville and heading towards Windsor.
The release states police from Windsor, General Investigation Section, Street Crime Enforcement Unit and Annapolis Valley Traffic Services located the described vehicle near Hantsport and activated their emergency lights and sirens.
RCMP Public Information Officer Cpl. Lisa Croteau says police pursued the car, which contained both men and three female passengers, for about 10 minutes from Lockhartville until Ross stopped it in Melanson.
Police allege the five people then left the car and fled from the scene.
The three women were arrested at the scene, and police later located the two men nearby and arrested them. They were later released and are not facing charges.
The male passenger, a 23-year-old man from Dartmouth, was arrested on his outstanding warrant and has been released from custody.
Ross remains in police custody and has been charged with dangerous operation of vehicle, flight from a peace officer, and operating a vehicle while prohibited.
