WINDSOR, N.S. - Members of the Windsor Fire Department and RCMP responded to a dumpster fire behind the Dollarama at 8:23 a.m. on July 7, 2017.

Dal Hutchinson, media relations officer with the RCMP, said it appears someone dumped material in recycling bin, which ignited.

“We were dispatched because it was potentially illegal dumping,” Hutchinson said. “I’m not sure exactly what at this point, but it’s obviously suspicious in nature.”

Hutchinson said the RCMP is consulting with the Windsor Fire Department to determine whether or not an investigation will be needed.

“It’s still early to determine what direction this will go at this point,” he added.
