Vehicles collide on Highway 101 near Windsor on Valentine's Day

Several first responders attended a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 101 near Windsor on Feb. 14.

WINDSOR, N.S. — Windsor firefighters, RCMP officers and paramedics were called out to Highway 101 for a head-on motor vehicle collision Feb. 14.

The accident occurred at 12:58 p.m. on Valentine's Day near the off ramp for Exit 5a, which is near the industrial park in Windsor.

Jennifer Clarke, a media relations officer with the RCMP, said an in email that the collision involved three vehicles. Clarke said one vehicle “lost control and ended up in the ditch” while the other two collided and remained on the highway.

Traffic was rerouted through town while they attended the call.

Clarke said the extent of the injuries sustained in the accident is unknown at this time, as is the number of patients that were transported to the hospital. She said the injuries were serious but not life threatening.
