WINDSOR, NS - An arrest warrant has been granted for a Toronto man charged with distributing and possessing child pornography in Bridgetown.

Adam Stuart Johnson, 30, was not present for a scheduled appearance in Windsor provincial court on Aug. 8, as he is currently in custody in Toronto.

The Crown was seeking a first-instance warrant for Johnson’s arrest, which was granted by Judge Claudine MacDonald.

The warrant states that there are reasonable grounds to believe that it’s necessary in the public interest to issue the warrant for the arrest of the accused.

The warrant instructs all peace officers in Nova Scotia to arrest Johnson and to bring the accused before the provincial court in Windsor to be dealt with according to the law.

It’s alleged that Johnson committed the offences in Bridgetown on Feb. 11. The charges have not been proven in court.
