NEW MINAS, NS – It was another colourful sea of Christmas lights at the 2017 Parade of Lights in New Minas.
As per usual, Main Street was lined with tons of spectators, eager to take in the lights and looking for that last sight, the Santa Claus float.
People young and old gathered along the sidewalk, wrapped up tight against the cold, taking candy canes from parade participants.
For families like the Devoes of Centreville, the parade is an annual event. After missing last year’s, they were eager to see it again this Christmas season.
“We love the parade because it’s the start of the holidays,” said mum Stephanie Devoe, standing with husband Ryan Devoe and kids Carson, 4, Chloe, 6 and Caleb, 2.
“We’ve been coming now for six years. It’s a tradition for us – we have friends here and we hang out.”
