Celebrate Canada 150 and fill a time capsule in Bear River
REAR RIVER - Bear River will celebrate Canada 150 with a ton of fun and food on the waterfront July 1 – and they’re even filling a time capsule.
There will be lots of food at the Canada Day celebrations in Clemenstport at the Legion July 1, including a pancake breakfast and a barbecue lunch.
CLEMENTSPORT - Canada Day celebrations return to Clementsport Legion July 1 with three communities joining together to make it a spectacular day.
Clementsport, Cornwallis, and Deep Brook will come together to celebrate Canada’s 150 birthday with numerous activities hosted by various groups. Included will be a pancake breakfast, competitions for children and adults, fun activities for kids, a barbecue lunch, and even a clown show.
And of course there’s a Canada Day cake and live entertainment – and everyone is invited.
-- 8 to 10:30 a.m. -- Pancake Breakfast. Hosted and served by Deep Brook Lions Club. Adults - $8. Kids -$4.
-- 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. -- Historical Society Interactive Displays. Hosted By Clements Historical Society.
-- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. -- Good Neighbours Club Bake Table. Various items for sale. Hosted By The Good Neighbours Club.
-- 9:30 a.m. -- Start of Canada 150 Family Marathon/Walk. Pledge Forms available throughout Area. Hosted by the Legion.
-- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. -- Various Competitions both adult and children. Prizes will be presented. Hosted By all.
-- 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. -- Bouncy Castle Set-up/Face Painting. Hosted by Legion Ladies Auxilary.
-- 12 to 4 p.m. -- Milo The Clown Show. Not to be missed. Hosted by the Legion.
-- 12 to 2 p.m. -- Barbecue Lunch. Legion and Ladies Auxilary.
-- 12:30 p.m. -- End of Marathon. Winners Declared/Prizes Presented.
-- 1 to 2 p.m. -- Judging of Children’s Posters/Poems. Hosted and Judged by Lions Club/Legion/Historical Society.
-- 2 p.m. -- Awards Presented to Children.
-- 2 p.m. -- Cutting of Canada Cake.
-- 1 to 4 p.m. -- Adult Horseshoe Tournament. Hosted by the Legion.
In addition live entertainment is planned through out the afternoon featuring local artists.
