Forces second game in double-knockout final in Middleton

Dartmouth's Peter MacPhee rink won two straight in double-knockout competition to take the Nova Scotia Men's Masters Curling Championships Thursday in Middleton. MacPhee went into the final with a 3-1 record against Peter Corkum's Mayflower rink which made it to the Thursday afternoon final with a 4-0 record. Corkum's rink was the only foursome to beat MacPhee in preliminary play, forcing MacPhee to beat the Mayflower rink twice. MacPhee beat Corkum in the afternoon match, forcing another contest that went into the eraly evening.

MacPhee took the final game 7-3, running Corkum out of stones in the eighth end. Pictured, from left, are MacPhee, mate Jim Featherby, Nova Scotia Curling Association's Julie Morley presenting the championship plaque, second Don MacLeod, and lead Jim Quinn.
