Annapolis County CAO Brenda Orchard announced her resignation today in order to move on to a new position. Orchard came to the County in March 2009.

“It has been an honour to serve the Council, staff, and residents of Annapolis County,” said Orchard. “As I reflect on the many accomplishments we have made as a team, I am extremely proud. I wish Council much success in the future. It is difficult to say good bye to Warden Ritchie. He is a caring leader and he has my unwavering support and appreciation. The staff at the County are exceptional and I will miss them dearly. I am looking forward to an exciting new position in Ontario within an hour’s drive of my two children. I will miss this beautiful place and its wonderful people.”

Orchard has accepted a position of CAO for the County of Huron, Ontario.

Council will officially accept, with regret, Orchard’s resignation on Tuesday, Dec. 18 during its regular session of council.

“It will be with much regret we accept Brenda’s resignation,” said Warden Reg Ritchie. “She has been essential to this organization and to the communities of Annapolis County. We (council) admired and appreciated Brenda’s leadership skills, professional mannerism, and community-mindedness. Her staff respected her and knew they always had her support. She will truly be missed. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours.”
