The Annapolis RCMP received 96 calls during the week of December 6 through 9. Besides a stabbing, a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian, and various disturbances, Christmas decorations were stolen from a variety of locations. Among calls were: five false 911s, five traffic accidents, two domestic assaults, two road checks, and four mental health matters. There were no false alarms this week.
Following are a few of these calls:
-- December 3 at 3:54 p.m. Bridgetown. Threats made via Facebook were reported. Police are following up.
-- December 3 at 5:27 p.m. Middleton. A break and enter to a residence was reported. The homeowner believed they know the person responsible.
-- December 3 at 8:33 p.m. Round Hill. The RCMP were asked to assist another police agency in an investigation.
-- December 4 at 5:23 a.m. Middleton. A homeowner reported hearing a loud bang and seeing a vehicle on the curb. Police attended, but the vehicle had left.
-- December 4 at 8:43 a.m. Middleton. A vehicle was reported stolen, but the incident turned out to be a civil matter and not theft.
-- December 4 at 9:16 a.m. Bridgetown. A firearm was reported missing.
-- December 4 at 1:21 p.m. Springfield. Police were called to a investigate shoplifting incident at a local business.
-- December 4 at 3:25 p.m. Middleton. A caller reported losing a wallet while downtown.
-- December 4 at 10:40 p.m. Lawrencetown. A noise complaint was reported after a neighbour was playing loud music. Police spoke to the neighbour and all things were quiet.
-- December 5 at 8:33 a.m. Middleton. A wallet was found and its owner was contacted. Unfortunately not the same person that lost one the day before.
-- December 5 at 8:58 a.m. Lawrencetown. A complaint of property damage was reported after windows were damaged.
-- December 5 at 11:39 a.m. Middleton. A wallet was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle. Police wish to remind the public to lock vehicles and only carry necessary documents. Leave birth certificates and SIN cards at home.
-- December 5 at 12:53 p.m. Lawrencetown. A complaint of property damage was reported after someone put a fence post through a car window during the night.
-- December 5 at 4:27 p.m. Lawrencetown. Christmas lights were reported stolen.
-- December 5 at 6:50 p.m. - Brickton 101 Hwy. Police were called to deal with a dead deer on the highway.
-- December 5 at 5:15 p.m. Middleton. A pedestrian was struck on Main St. Police are investigating further.
-- December 6 at 12:32 p.m. Hampton. A caller reported seeing a suspicious vehicle driving around the area very slowly. Police patrolled, but the vehicle was gone.
-- December 6 at 3:29 p.m. Highway 101 at Lawrencetown. A truck hauling a trailer was reported for passing on a double solid line.
-- December 6 at 8:07 p.m. Middleton. A homeowner reported seeing a male urinating on the lawn who left when asked. Police checked the area but the male had left.
-- December 6 at 8:26 p.m. Middleton. Police were told about a driver operating with no license earlier in the day. Police will check on the driver.
-- December 7 at 9:14 a.m. Middleton. Police were advised a Christmas tree decorated with lights was stolen from Centennial Park.
-- December 7 at 12:43 p.m. Lawrencetown. A caller reported that Christmas lights were stolen from a tree in front of the house.
-- December 7 at 3:12 p.m. Lawrencetown. Police were called about a speeding dirt bike. The bike was not found.
-- December 7 at 5:26 p.m. Highway 101 Waldec. Police received a call from a hitchhiker who had a dog and was worried about coyotes.
-- December 7 at 7:37 p.m. Clarence. Police were investigating a break and enter where a house was entered and liquor taken.
-- December 7 at 9:11 p.m. Wilmot. Police were investigating a fraud through the internet after a bank account was hacked.
-- December 7 at 11:36 p.m. Lawrencetown. Police were called to quiet a loud party where patrons were squealing tires. Police made patrols in the area. All was quiet after that.
-- December 8 at 1:12 a.m. Wilmot. A resident reported that his windshield had been smashed, possibly by a baseball bat.
-- December 8 at 3:32 a.m. Middleton. Police were called to investigate a report of a theft of a vehicle.
-- December 8 at 4:39 a.m. Nictaux. Police were investigating an incident involving a vehicle in the ditch. The driver is being charged for impaired driving.
-- December 8 at 8:30 a.m. Wilmot. A chain saw was reported stolen. Police are investigating.
-- December 8 at 3:44 p.m. Meadowvale. Police were called to locate a missing person. Search and rescue assisted in the search.
-- December 8 at 4:02 p.m. Lawrencetown. Police were called concerning a person who was seen looking in the windows of the Elementary School.
-- December 8 at 4:08 p.m. Paradise. A caller reported someone had broken the latch to the garage door sometime during the week.
-- December 8 at 8:42 p.m. Middleton. Police were called to help a person who had fallen down and was injured. The person was taken to hospital by ambulance.
-- December 8 at 9:12 p.m. Lawrencetown. A caller reported seeing a suspicious vehicle parked at the end of the street. The vehicle left shortly after the call was made. Police looked for the vehicle but did not locate it.
-- December 8 at 10:00 p.m. Granville. A homeowner reported hearing a couple of gun shots after dark. Police checked the area and advised DNR.
-- December 9 at 12:13 a.m. Bridgetown. Police were called to quiet a loud party. The owner was spoken with and the noise quieted down.
-- December 9 at 2:12 a.m. Bridgetown. A person reported a distress call made from a pay phone. The individual required a drive home and police complied.
-- December 9 at 8:08 a.m. Highway 101 at Spa Springs. A vehicle was reported seen over embankment. It turned out it was actually stuck after mudding on the trail.
-- December 9 at 11:24 a.m. Middleton. Police were investigating a report of threats and harassment between two individuals.
-- December 9 at 6:38 p.m. Middleton. Police were investigating an assault where a male was stabbed. A person was arrested.
-- December 9 at 7:44 p.m. Deep Brook. A caller reported a suspicious person on a property looking for a cigarette.
-- December 9 at 8:16 p.m. Lawrencetown. Police were asked to perform a well-being check on a person. It turned out she was having problems with her phone.
-- December 9 at 8:59 p.m. Highway 101 at Bridgetown. A father called police on behalf of his daughter who was broken down with a flat tire. The tire was changed and she was back on her way.
