The emergency department at Soldiers Memorial Hospital (SMH), Middleton will be closed due to physician shortage Saturday evening and most of the day Tuesday, Annapolis Valley Health said today.

On Saturday, Nov. 10 the emergency department will close at 6 p.m. and re-open Sunday, Nov. 11 at 8 a.m.

On Tuesday, Nov. 13 it will be closed from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

AVH said if you have an emergency, call 911. The emergency department at Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville is available during those times.

For non-emergency health information, please call 811 to speak with a registered nurse.

Annapolis Valley Health said it apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
