Ottawa police are looking for a Middleton man in relation to a 2009 car crash – and they think he could be back in Middleton.

The Ottawa Police Service said Tuesday it is asking for the public’s help in locating Brandon Gaul, 26, in relation to a fatal collision that occurred on November 1, 2009.

Ottawa Police obtained a Canada wide warrant for Gaul, who is charged with one count of Impaired Driving Cause Death, two counts of Impaired Driving Cause Bodily Harm, and two counts of Dangerous Driving Cause Bodily Harm.

He is believed to be in the Annapolis County, Middleton area, where he may be working at a tattoo business.

Gaul is described as a white, 5 feet 9 inches (175 cm) tall, with a muscular build, short red/blond hair, walks with a limp, and is English speaking.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Greg Rhoden of the Ottawa Police Service Traffic Collision Investigation Section at 613-236-1222 ext. 2481, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or info@ottawapolice.ca.

On November 1, 2009 at about 5 a.m., a Volkwagen Jetta traveling southbound on Island Park Drive in Ottawa left the roadway, struck a tree, and flipped over. When emergency services responded, the vehicle was on fire.

The four male occupants of the vehicle (including Gaul), all between the ages of 21 and 23, were extracted from the vehicle, treated by paramedics and taken to hospital with serious injuries. One of the passengers died as a result of his injuries.
