Deputy Warden Patrick McWade has resigned from Annapolis County council effective immediately.

Council accepted his letter of resignation with regret during its regular meeting on July 17. He cited personal reasons for his decision to resign and has relocated to PEI to be with family.

A new deputy warden will be chosen during August council, while the District 6 seat will be filled during the municipal elections to be held in October. Patrick served on council for nine years and as Deputy Warden since Nov. 2011.

“Deputy Warden McWade  was an excellent councillor who always served the people of Annapolis County with respect and dignity,” said Warden Reg Ritchie. “Municipal council and the residents of District 6 will surely miss his exemplary leadership. We (council) will certainly miss working with him.”
