Four Paradise area men face drugs and weapons charges after RCMP searched two residences near the Annapolis County community Wednesday evening.

RCMP made the arrests without incident, police said.

“Last night, members of the RCMP Annapolis County and Kings County Street Crime Enforcement Units executed search warrants on two residences on Highway 201 near Paradise, Annapolis County,” said Cpl. Laurie Smith from the Bridgetown detachment.  “As a result of the searches, police seized over 40 marijuana plants, a quantity of methamphetamines, and three long guns.”

The men, ages 27, 49, 56 and 57, from Paradise, are facing a variety of charges involving Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Production of Marijuana, and Unsafe Storage of Firearms. They were released and are scheduled to appear in Annapolis Royal Provincial Court on September 10.

The police investigation is continuing,” Smith said.
