Area residents were on the lookout for anything suspicious this week, as police received several reports of strange footprints around vehicles and homes. Annapolis RCMP also received calls concerning threats made over Facebook.
The police had a fairly quiet week with 69 calls. Among these were four false 911s, two false alarms, nine traffic incidents, and eight domestic matters.
Following are highlights of the week:

-- January 16 at 4:01 p.m. Carlton Corner. Police were called to a single-vehicle accident after a motorist lost control and the car spun and rolled over in the ditch. Two people were transported to hospital with minor injuries.
-- January 16 at 4:06 p.m. North Williamston. A homeowner saw a suspicious vehicle turn around in the driveway.
-- January 16 at 4:53 p.m. Middleton. Threats uttered via Facebook were reported.
-- January 16 at 5:10 p.m. Wilmot. An assault complaint resulted in one male facing charges of assault and breech of probation. The subject was released pending a court appearance.
-- January 16 at 5:14 p.m. Bridgetown. Police were called to assist EHS with a difficult patient.
-- January 16 at 7:05 p.m. Middleton. Threats uttered via Facebook were reported.
-- January 17 at 2:54 a.m. Nictaux. Follow-up to a report of a possible break and enter revealed that the homeowner gave permission for two individuals to enter the garage to repair a snowmobile.
-- January 17 at 1:28 p.m. Paradise. Threats uttered via Facebook were reported.
-- January 17 at 2 p.m. Middleton. A traffic matter was reported involving vehicles that were parked in the road.
-- January 17 at 2:28 p.m. Middleton. The NSLC reported a shoplifter. The suspect has been identified. The investigation continues.
-- January 17 at 5:14 p.m. Wilmot. A homeowner reported that a suspicious male driving a silver neon came to the residence and tried to sell stereo equipment.
-- January 17 at 7:46 p.m. Middleton. A disturbance was reported involving six youth. A patrol was make and the matter was resolved.
-- January 18 at 4:10 p.m. Princedale. A homeowner called police after seeing someone trying to steal a neighbour’s vehicle. The suspect fled the area and police were unable to locate.
-- January 18 at 4:18 p.m. Parkers Cove. A possible Internet scam involving software updates that required credit card information was reported.
-- January 18 at 7:10 p.m. Lequille. A possible break and enter in progress was reported. Police attended and determined that it was the homeowners returning home.
-Jan. 19 at 1:24 p.m. South Williamston. A homeowner discovered someone left footprints around residence during the night.
-- January 19 at 9:43 p.m. Bridgetown. A disturbance involving two males was reported. Police attended and one male had already left, the second individual was lodged in cells for public intoxication.
-- January 20 at 8:40 a.m. Torbrook Mines. Police assisted EHS after a report than an elderly male had fallen and EHS was unable to gain entry into the residence.
-- January 20 at 8:27 p.m. Paradise. A patrol was made in response to a report that suspicious individuals carrying flashlights were seen. Police determined that two kids had been sliding there earlier and one had lost some money. They were trying to recover the cash.
-- January 19 at 5:20 p.m. Highway 101 Brooklyn. Police received a report of a possible impaired driver. The vehicle was intercepted and the driver displayed symptoms of drug intoxication and was tested. The driver passed the test.
-- January 21 at 9:45 a.m. Bridgetown. A homeowner reported finding suspicious footprints around his vehicle. Nothing appears to have been taken.
-- January 21 at 11:30 a.m. Margaretsville. A complaint of property damage was reported after two windows were smashed.
-- January 21 at 4:07 p.m. Nictaux. A vehicle was entered during the night and gift cards were stolen.
-- January 22 at 6:48 a.m. Lawrencetown. Police were called to quell an overnight party.
-- January 22 at 10:27 a.m. Wilmot. A vehicle was entered overnight and items were stolen.
-- January 22 at 11:07 a.m. Wilmot. A homeowner awoke to find suspicious footprints around a vehicle. Nothing appears to have been taken.
-- January 22 at 8:34 p.m. Wilmot. Threats uttered via Facebook were reported.
