Police believe a series of vehicle break-ins that took place this week in Wilmot are related, but suspect it was probably young people rather than career criminals at work. On August 26, police were called to several break and enters of vehicles. The matter remains under investigation.

A red bike was found in the bushes near Nictaux. The owner is asked to contact the Middleton detachment at 825-2000 to recover the bike.

The Annapolis police responded to 94 calls for assistance during the week of August 23 through August 30. Among these were three false 911s, two false alarms, four traffic accidents, and six domestic assaults. Following are highlights of the week’s calls:

-- August 23 at 5:32 p.m. A caller reported that an individual was blocking access to community property in New Albany.

-- August 23 at 6:03 p.m. Police were called to Meadowvale in response to a report of a suspicious person.

-- August 23 at 7:16 p.m. A caller reported that teens were damaging trees in Middleton.

-- August 23 at 8:12 p.m. Police were called to New Albany after someone uttered threats.

-- August 24 at 2:21 p.m. Police were called after someone uttered threats in New Albany

-- August 24 at 3:30 p.m. Police received a report of a dangerous driver in Granville after someone was passing on the double line

-- August 24 at 4:30 p.m. A caller reported that a wire was down in Cornwallis. The matter was referred to Nova Scotia Power

-- August 24 at 4:38 Police were called to a motor vehicle accident in Albany Cross

-- August 24 at 6:42p.m. Police received a report that a minor was making electronic threats in Nictaux

-- August 24 at 9:47 p.m. Suspicious people were reported outside a Middleton business.

-- August 24 at 10:46 p.m. Police received a report of possible gunshots in Wilmot. A patrol was made but was unable to confirm

-- August 24 at 11:52 p.m. Police received a report that minors were drinking in Bridgetown

-- August 25 at 11:03 a.m. Police received a report that construction equipment was speeding in Nictaux.

-- August 25 at 12:54 p.m. A caller reported a complaint of property damage in Deep Brook.

-- August 25 at 3:02 p.m. A caller reported a complaint of property damage in Paradise

-- August 25 at 8:28 p.m. A caller reported an attempted theft after someone tried to steal a barbeque in Meadowvale.

-- August 25 at 10:53 p.m. A caller reported a possible impaired driver in Wilmot. A patrol was made but failed to locate the vehicle.

-- August 26 at 8:27 a.m. A caller reported that someone may have searched through a vehicle parked in Wilmot during the night.

-- August 26 at 9:06 a.m. A caller reported that someone may have broken into a vehicle parked in Wilmot during the night.

-- August 26 at 10:38 a.m. A caller reported that someone may have broken into a vehicle parked in Wilmot during the night.

-- August 26 at 1:47 p.m. Police received a report that a vehicle was swerving all over the road in Belleisle.

-- August 26 at 3:31 p.m. Police received a request to locate an individual after a car was seen parked in the same spot in Nictaux for several days. The driver was off fishing nearby.

-- August 26 at 2:49 p.m. A caller reported that someone stole items from a vehicle parked in Wilmot.

-- August 26 at 3:59 p.m. One male is facing charges after damaging the windshield of a vehicle in Middleton.

-- August 26 at 6:33 p.m. A caller reported a complaint of property damage in Mount Hanley.

-- August 26 at 11:45 p.m. A caller requested police assistance to deal with an unwanted guest in Mount Hanley.

-- August 26 at 11:51 p.m. A Middleton caller reported that a male was trying to kick down power poles. A patrol was made but failed to locate.

-- August 27at 12:34 a.m. A break and enter was reported in Carlton Corner after a garage door was found open. A patrol was made, but failed to determine evidence of forced entry.

-- August 27 at 3:45p.m. Police were called to a single vehicle accident in Torbrook after a driver lost control.

-- August 27 at 2:50 p.m. Police received a report of a loud party in West Dalhousie.

-- August 27 at 3 p.m. Police located an impaired driver in West Dalhousie.

-- August 27 at 5:11 p.m. A break and enter was reported into a building in West Hastings.

-- August 27 at 6:42 p.m. An assault was reported in West Dalhousie.

-- August 27 at 9:21 p.m. A caller reported that someone was playing loud music in Bridgetown.

-- August 28 at 12:52 p.m. Police were called to a motor vehicle accident in Waldec after a motorist hit a bear

-- August 28 at 3:29 p.m. A Nictaux caller reported a complaint of property damage and that a vehicle had been taken without permission.

-- August 28 at 0:53 p.m. A breech of peace was reported in Bear River.

-- August 28 at 10:10 p.m. One male is facing charges of impaired driving in Williamston.

-- August 29 at 4:01 p.m. Police were called to subdue a loud party in Middleton

-- August 29 at 5:45 p.m. Police were called to a motor vehicle accident in Tupperville after a motorist hit a bear.

-- August 29 at 11:02 p.m. A caller reported a complaint of arson after hay bales were set on fire in Middleton.

-- August 29 at 11:46 p.m. An abandoned vehicle found in Middleton was determined to be stolen from another part of the county.
