Two charged in Nictaux drug bust

Prescription pills, pot, stolen property seized

A man and a woman face numerous drug-related charges after RCMP executed a search warrant at a Nictaux residence on August 25.

The Annapolis RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with help from Kings Street Crime and Middleton and Bridgetown RCMP arrested a 35-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman who are facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking hydromorph contin (Dilaudid), possession of marijuana, possession of stolen property, and theft of electricity.

A 20-year-old man, found sleeping in a back room of the apartment, is facing charges of breach of undertaking to observe a curfew.

Cpl. Laurie Smith, in charge of the Annapolis RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit, said a substantial amount of illegally obtained prescription medication was located, as well as stolen property/electronics, and marijuana.

“Further investigation lead to a charge of theft of electricity against the 35-year-old male and the 18-year-old female,” he said.

Smith said names are not being released at this time as the investigation is continuing and more charges may be laid.
