A municipal boil order issued to all users of the Margaretsville water system has been lifted effective immediately, Annapolis County staff said today, July 29.
Municipal Services director Laurie Emms said the necessary tests have been completed and it has been determined that the water is ready for consumption.
“We were able to cancel the advisory after receiving two, consecutive bacteriological test results indicating that no bacteria exist in the water sample,” Emms said this morning. “The final test result has come in and the water is clean.”
An advisory had been issued Wednesday, July 28 after a water sample indicated traces of E.coli.
“The immediate action of the public works crew was instrumental in addressing this matter in such a timely fashion,” said Emms. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
