Doctor shortage forces ER closures at SMH

Planned power outage also affects emergency hours

The Emergency Room at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton will be temporarily closed due to the lack of physician coverage on the following dates:

• Sunday, March 14 from 8 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Monday, March 15

• Wednesday, March 17 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Friday, March 19 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Saturday, March 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. Sunday, March 21 this closure is due to a planned power outrage affecting the site

If you have an emergency, please call 911.

The Emergency Rooms at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville and Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal are available for emergency care. The Out-Patient Clinic at Western Kings Memorial Health Centre, Berwick is also open Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for non-emergency care.

Annapolis Valley Health is sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
