Accidents, break-ins, assaults keep police hopping

Two people are facing charges for possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking after police stopped a vehicle in Middleton. A 22-year-old Wilmot man and a 33-year-old Kingston woman were arrested after police discovered a large quantity of cocaine. Both are facing charges.

The police responded to 89 calls for assistance between March 1 and March 7.  Among these were two false alarms, three false 911s, two domestic assaults, and 11 motor vehicle accidents. Following are highlights of these calls:

--March 1 at 7:30 a.m. A traffic hazard was reported in Tupperville after a piece of metal was found lying across the road.

--March 1 at 12:19 p.m. A complaint of mischief was reported in Wilmot after a vehicle was damaged at a commercial location.

--March 1 at 4:06 p.m. An assault was reported in Brooklyn and was resolved through police presence.

--March 1 at 4:48 p.m. A careless driver was reported in Cornwallis.

--March 1 at 7:04 p.m. A vehicle was reported damaged in Clementsport after something smashed the back window.

--March 1 at 7:51 p.m. A person in Middleton reported receiving harassing phone calls.

--March 1 at 8:59p.m. A disturbance was reported in Wilmot. The matter was resolved with police presence.

--March 2 at 10:46 a.m. A driver was reported for dangerous operation of a vehicle in Wilmot.

--March 2 at 11:47 a.m. A complaint of theft under $5,000 was reported at a Middleton business.

--March 2 at 1:22 p.m. A disturbance was reported in Bridgetown. The matter was resolved with police presence.

--March 2 at 5:02 p.m. A complaint of phone fraud was reported in Melvern Square.

--March 3 at 2:29 p.m. A 911 offence occurred when a youth in Bear River made multiple hang-up calls.

--March 3 at 7:46 p.m. Police received a report of a disturbance in Bridgetown after a group of youth was noisy at the park.

--March 4 at 12:10 a.m. A break and enter was reported into a church in Bridgetown. An individual has been arrested and is facing charges.

--March 4 at 1 a.m. A suspicious person was reported seen around another Bridgetown church.

--March 4 at 8:26 a.m. A person in Nictaux reported receiving harassing phone calls.

--March 4 at 9:03 a.m. A break and enter was reported in a cottage in Lequille.

--March 4 at 10:30 a.m. A break and enter was reported into a public building in Middleton. An individual has been arrested and is facing charges.

--March 4 at 1:11 p.m. A break and enter was reported in Lawrencetown. An individual has been arrested and is facing charges.

--March 4 at 1:57 p.m. A motor vehicle accident was reported in Hampton. Road conditions are believed to be a factor.

--March 4 at 2:45 p.m. A break and enter was reported into a seasonal residence in Lawrencetown. A dining room set was stolen.

--March 4 at 6:06 p.m. Police were called to a motor vehicle accident in Wilmot. A single vehicle had spun out of control on slippery roads and flipped over.

--March 4 at 6:50 p.m. Police were called to a motor vehicle accident in Bridgetown after a vehicle spun out of control and hit a ditch. Minor injuries were reported.

--March 4 at 6:56 p.m. A motor vehicle accident was reported in South Farmington after a vehicle struck a mailbox.

--March 4 at 10:01 p.m. A Nictaux caller reported receiving harassing calls and threats.

--March 5 at 11:57 a.m. A motor vehicle accident that happened on Stronach Mountain Rd. the previous day was reported.

--March 5 at 1:27 p.m. A motor vehicle accident occurred in Bear River after a driver hit a tree.

--March 5 at 3:22 p.m. A motor vehicle accident was reported in Spa Springs.

--March 5 at 3:57 p.m. Police received a report of a possible impaired driver in Wilmot.

--March 5 at 8:34 p.m. Police were called to a disturbance in Nictaux.

--March 5 at 10:56 p.m. Police were called to Wilmot after a disturbance was reported.

--March 5 at 11:30 p.m. Police received a report of a possible traffic accident on Highway 8 in Milford. A patrol was made and found that a vehicle had been damaged. The driver was located elsewhere and is facing various charges.

--March 6 at 1:53 a.m. Police were called to a disturbance in Bridgetown.

--March 6 at 3:27 a.m. Police received a report of an assault with a weapon. One female was arrested and lodged in cells.

--March 6 at 8:29 a.m. Police were called to a motor vehicle accident in South Farmington. No injuries were reported.

--March 6 at 9:58 a.m. A 12-foot aluminum boat was reported stolen in Granville Ferry. The boat is red with two wheels mounted on the stern.

--March 6 at 10:30 a.m. Pop machines were reported damaged in Wilmot.

--March 6 at 2:26 p.m. Police were called to a motor vehicle accident in Centrelea.

--March 6 at 11:18 p.m. Police were called to a disturbance in Middleton after a car was honking a horn.

--March 6 at 11:38 p.m. Police stopped a vehicle in Middleton and charged two people with possession of narcotics.

--March 7 at 12:44 a.m. Police were called to Nictaux on a noise complaint.

--March 7 at 1:47 p.m. A caller reported an ATV driver for trespassing on private property in Melvern Square.

--March 7 at 7:58 p.m.  A dangerous driver was reported in Lawrencetown.

--March 7 at 8:41 p.m. Police were called to a traffic accident in Brickton after a driver struck a deer. A patrol was made and found indication the driver had been drinking. The driver’s license was suspended for 24 hours.

--March 8 at 9:08 a.m. Police received a complaint of mischief after a public building was egged.
