Memorial Christmas Tree Lights

December The Annapolis Community Health Centre Auxiliary is sponsoring the Annual Memorial Christmas Lighting for the Annapolis Community Health Centre. Memorial Lights are $5 each or 3 for $10. Larger donations are gratefully received. Lights can be purchased at Fancy's Jewelry or at the Reception Desk at the Health Centre. Thank you for your support.

 

Volunteers Needed

The towns of Middleton, Bridgetown and Annapolis Royal are interested in building outdoor rinks for our residents. However, in order to make this happen we will need the help of some dedicated volunteers to both build and maintain each of them. If you are interested in helping out either by donating your time or donating some of the materials that are needed, please call 824-1069.

 

Call for Board Members

Family Tree Children’s Centre in Middleton requires talented and conscientious volunteers to its’ Board to lead and strengthen our programs for children ages 18 months to five years and their families. Jam Sessions

Wednesdays Come out to Brickton Jam Sessions every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. Great Country & Bluegrass music. Come to play, sing, or listen. Refreshments at intermission. All for only $ 2 each.

 

Public Skate

At the Middleton and District Arena on Fridays, 7 to 8 p.m. and Sundays, 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. Adult Skate is on Wednesdays, 10 to 11 a.m.. Call 825-3583 to confirm. Cost: Youth $2; Adult $4; Family $10.

Bridgetown Curling Club requires experienced curlers or those who would like to learn. Drop-in Christmas Crafts

December 20 Drop-In Christmas Crafts on Thursday, Dec. 20 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Bridgetown and Area Library. Stop by after school and make a fun Christmas craft to decorate your home.  Or perhaps you can give it as a gift to someone.  (Ages 5 to 11).

Dodgeball League

December 21 Is registration deadline for the Middleton Dodgeball League to take place every Friday from January 18 to March 18 in the AEES Gymnasium, 7 to 8 p.m. Registrations accepted for teams & individuals. Players must be 16+. Teams should have 6 to 10 people,  (1/2 girls & 1/2 boys).  Forms available at Middleton Recreation Office. For more info, call 825-6611.

December 22 The ‘Open Hand’ is putting on a Community Christmas Dinner at New Beginnings Center, 1151 Bridge St. Greenwood on Saturday, Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. There is no charge.

December 22 The "Open Hand" is having a Community Christmas Dinner at New Beginnings Center, 1151 Bridge St., Greenwood on Saturday, Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. The dinner is $5 per person. Everyone Welcome.

 

Trekkers Walk

Candlelight Service

December 24 Celebrate Christmas by attending a 'traditional candlelight service with a modern twist' at Emmanuel Church at 7 p.m.  This 50-minute service will include caroling, drama, video, reflection, and more.  37 Gates Ave, Middleton.

On Christmas Day at 10 a.m. is Christmas Eucharist. On December 30 services are at 8 and 10 p.m. (with carols and lessons). On January 6 at 10 a.m. is Epiphany service with visit from Three Wise Men. All welcome.

 

MRHS Grad Hockey

December 26 Boxing Day schedule: MRHS Girls vs Grads at 5:30 p.m.; MRHS Grads ’96 to’03 vs. Grads ’04 to ’08 at 6:30 p.m.; MRHS Boys vs. Grads ’09 to ’11 at 7:30p.m.; MRHS Boys vs. Ancient Grads (pre ’96) at 8:30 p.m. Come out to the Middleton and District Arena. Usual charge and 50/50 draw. Nominal fee for Grad players. 

 

Cribbage Tournament

Outdoor Series #2

December 29 Children’s Outdoor Classroom series #2 - “Animal Habitat and Survival,” this month’s free seminar teaches children everything about animals, their habitat, and how they survive, followed by a game of ‘Survival.’ Rain or shine in Middleton at Riverside Park, 11 a.m. to 12 noon; in Bridgetown at Valleyview Park, 1 to 2 p.m.; in Annapolis Royal at the Marsh Trail, 3 to 4 p.m.Info: 824-1069.

New Year’s Eve

December 31 Celebrate the New Year at the arena in Kingston at 6 p.m. for Kingston’s community celebration. Enjoy skating (bring skates), a sleigh ride, live entertainment, hot dogs, cider and hot chocolate. Also face painting, balloon animals, and popcorn. January 1 At the Middleton Royal Canadian Legion starting at 11 a.m. Appropriate dress required. No blue jeans, please. Members and guests welcome. Must be 19 years of age.

January 1 Free Public Skate from 1 to 3 p.m. on New Year’s Day. Hot chocolate. Hosted by Lawrencetown Lions at the Lawencetown Youth Arena.
