Middleton’s farm market is looking for talent, and on Friday, July 20, as Heart of the Valley Festival events heat up, organizers of the Friday market will be holding their own event – Middleton Market Idol.
The market is open from 2 to 6 p.m. and during that time, songsters can compete for the chance to win first, second, and third prizes of $100, $75, and $50 if they’re crowd pleasers. And it’s open to all ages.
John Atwood of the Misty Mountain Misfits will be master of ceremonies and his group will provide the sound system for the contest.
Anybody, all ages, can come on out to try their luck, say organizers. The Middleton Market Idol contest is an informal event, so contestants don’t need to be nervous. And if you don’t want to join in, you can watch, listen, and cheer on your favourites. And there will be refreshments to purchase from the numerous vendors.
Market organizers plan to follow up the Middleton Market Idol event with a Bounce Kingdom on August 3 and are working on another special event for the Friday, July 27. They’re aiming to provide something different and attractive every week.
This Friday, for the Market Idol event, those interested can find Christina in the crowd and sign up.
Organizers are hoping local camp organizers might find the talent contest fits right in with their summer fun.
