It was a spectacular opening for the Bridgetown Farmers and Traders Market Tuesday at Jubilee Park, with 27 vendors setting up at the new location and scores of local residents and visitors alike vying for the large variety of market goods being offered.
“Opening day turned out to be absolutely fantastic,” organizers said on the market website. “Twenty-seven enthusiastic vendors came in and scads of equally enthusiastic shoppers welcomed them. The choice and selection of product offerings was great, the food was very popular, the musical entertainment outstanding and it looked like everyone was just having fun.”
The market expects even more vendors when it opens next on May 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The market currently has approximately 20 permanent vendors and several non-profit organizations.
