Welcome to the Trecothic Creek and Windsor Railway, a miniature passenger-carrying railroad in the middle of Windsor
Inspired by members of the Atlantic Model Engineering Society, the Trecothic Creek & Windsor Railway offers free miniature train rides to rail buffs young and old.
Built to a 1:8 scales by society members, the trains are replicas of the real thing, including a fleet of steam locomotives. Passengers enjoy rolling along a half-mile loop through a park-like setting.
The trains may be tiny but the sense of fun is larger than life: “the swaying with the car as it rolls along the track, the sense of smell...a deep breath often smells of coal smoke, or the food on the barbecue, or the fresh air.”
Depending on traffic on the line, the number of passengers, and the train you’re on, a full loop of the line can take anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Repeat rides are encouraged.
Located on Centennial Drive in the Windsor Industrial Park, Threcothic Creek is hidden away from the hustle and bustle and offers full picnic facilities and washroom facilities. A barbecue is available for rentals on public running days, as well as private bookings.
On-site parking is provided, and one of the societies cheerful gatekeepers will be happy to show you where to leave your vehicle. Admission is by donation.
