Environment Canada is warning most Nova Scotians to be ready for as much as 15 centimetres of snow tonight and Sunday morning.
Following is the forefast for tonight (Saturday night, Sunday morning):
Periods of rain changing to snow near midnight. Rainfall amount 10 mm. Snowfall amount 10 cm except locally 15 cm inland and over higher terrain. Wind becoming east 20 km/h this evening then northeast 30 gusting to 50 after midnight. Low zero.
Environment Canada forecasts the following for Sunday:
Snow ending near noon then cloudy with 60 per cent chance of flurries. Amount 2 to 4 cm. Wind north 30 km/h gusting to 50 becoming northwest 20 gusting to 40 in the afternoon. Temperature steady near zero.

A developing low pressure system currently southwest of Nova Scotia will continue to intensify as it tracks northeastward tonight and passes south of Nova Scotia. Rain ahead of the system has now spread across the province and will change over to snow near midnight or overnight. The snow will taper off from west to east during the day Sunday. Total snowfall amounts near 10 to 15 centimetres are expected except up to 20 centimetres over northern and Eastern Nova Scotia, particularly over higher terrain.
