Only a handful of music lovers outwitted the weatherman Thursday at the Annapolis Valley Exhibition Witchitaw concert in Lawrencetown, but the rain stayed away and the local band fronted by Jason Spinney drove on into the night.

The five-piece band played some country classic like Six Days on the Road and the homespun The Stranger, and made room for a guest appearance by Frank Spinney. One of the most popular songs was this Johnny Cash classic. Watch video.

Friday night's concert features Raylene Rankin. It begins at 8:30 p.m. and the gate charge covers the cost of the concert.
