Highway 8 gets 10.4-kilometre upgrade

Drivers in several Nova Scotia counties will be travelling on smoother, safer roads thanks to four paving tenders called by the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal.

The projects are spread over four counties and involve 26.6 kilometres of paving. The tenders will close in mid-January and the project details are as follows: -- Annapolis County: repaving on Trunk 8 from the intersection of Highway 101 south for 10.4 kilometres -- Digby County: repaving on Eustace Comeau Road from the intersection of Trunk 1 south for 2.9 kilometres to Maza Road, and on Maza Road from Eustace Comeau Road for 1.9 kilometres to the intersection of Second Division Road -- Kings County: repaving on Canaan Mountain Road from New Road for four kilometres to the end of the existing pavement -- Yarmouth County: repaving on Route 340 from Hardscratch Road north for 7.4 kilometres to Durkee Road
